DStatis Geert Walther Nygaard, CEO


Geert has a distinguished career in the global Diagnostics industry. He joined Epigenomics in February 2007 from a position as Managing Director and member of the Management Board of pharmaceutical and diagnostics company Abbott GmbH & Co. KG in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he held the commercial responsibility for the Diagnostic Division. Geert has an academic background in chemical engineering and received marketing and management training at INSEAD in France. He started his career in Denmark, working for Diagnostics companies Beckman Instruments and Dako A/S in national and international positions. He joined Abbott in 1999 as the company’s Country Manager in Denmark from a position as Managing Director of Dako AG in Switzerland. He then moved on into positions with increasing responsibilities, including business development and marketing for Abbott Diagnostics in Europe.
 
 
DStatis Oliver Schacht, CFO, CEO Epigenomics, Inc.


Oliver holds a Diploma in European Business Administration from the European School of Business in Reutlingen and London as well as a Master's Degree and PhD from the University of Cambridge (UK). With Mercer Management Consulting between 1995 and 1998, he worked on projects in M&A, growth strategies and re-organization in pharma, biotech, and other sectors. Oliver has been with the Company since June 1999 and he also took over as CEO of Epigenomics, Inc., Seattle in January 2006.
 
 
DStatis Achim Plum, Senior VP Corporate Development


Achim studied molecular genetics, cell biology and biochemistry at the University of Bonn and the University of East Anglia, Norwich/UK. He obtained his PhD in molecular genetics from the University of Bonn. Before joining Epigenomics, Achim held various positions in R&D management, project management and business development and the biotechnology and pharma industry. He first started working for Epigenomics in 2003 as a project manager and later headed the R&D of the biomarker service business. In 2006 Achim took over the responsibility for Epigenomics’ investor and public relations. In his current position as Senior Vice President Corporate Development he heads the departments Marekting & Sales, Business Development and Communications. 
 
 
DStatis Andrew Sledziewski, Senior VP Research


Andrew earned his PhD in Molecular Genetics at the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1980 and moved to the US to become a Senior Fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle, the same year. After 13 years at ZymoGenetics, Inc., in Seattle, he became the CTO with Stem Cell Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and has been acting as CSO with ORCA Biosciences since 1998. Andrew has been with Epigenomics since December 2000 and heads Epigenomics´ Research and IP Departments.

 
 
DStatis Dr. Uwe Staub, Senior VP Product Development


Uwe studied Biology at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, and earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Human Genetics. Before joining Epigenomics, Uwe worked 14 years in the IVD industry for Abbott Diagnostics, Digene and Qiagen and gained experience in Operations, Quality and Regulatory Affairs as well as Product Development. Uwe heads Epigenomics' product development departments and the study management and data support group.
 
 
DStatis Michael Wandell, Senior VP Regulatory


Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Washington and a Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Michigan. He has twenty-five years of leadership experience in biotechnology companies including Director Business Development & Regulatory Affairs with Genetic Systems Corporation, Chief Scientific Officer at Home Access Health Corporation and Vice President Clinical & Regulatory Affairs with LipoSonix, Inc. Prior to joining Epigenomics, Mike was Clinical Research Program Director, Benaroya Research Institute. He has led the development and FDA approval of several biological and class III medical device products, including a hepatitis C virus assay and several HIV screening, diagnosis and referral products. Mike is now Epigenomics’ Senior VP of Regulatory Affairs.

 
 
DStatis Albert Weber, Senior VP Finance, Accounting & Controlling


Albert earned his degree in business administration at the University of Cologne. After several years in various accounting and treasury functions with large corporate players (Sony, EMI), he joined Pironet, an IT start-up. He headed their controlling team and was part of the IPO team. In 2000 he joined Epigenomics and heads the entire accounting, controlling, purchasing and general administration team.
