Biomarker Discovery DMH
  • Robust Results
  • High Quality Biomarkers
  • Comprehensive Analysis

Epigenomics‘ Biomarker Discovery offerings allow the rapid, genome-wide identification of DNA Methylation biomarker candidates in human and mouse samples. Depending on the specific clinical question, DNA methylation biomarkers can be used for various applications – like drug response prediction, disease prognosis or treatment monitoring.

Epigenomics uses Differential Methylation Hybridisation (DMH) – a well established and proprietary microarray-based technology to rapidly profile the human genome for DNA methylation differences. DMH is highly reproducible and biomarker candidates obtained from DMH are ready for further exploration in biological samples.

Technology principle

  • Genomic DNA is isolated from fresh frozen human samples.
  • DNA is cut with methylation insensitive restriction enzymes followed by ligation of linkers.
  • Resulting fragments are cut with methylation-sensitive restriction enzymes.
  • Uncut (i.e. methylated) fragments are PCR amplified using linker specific primers.
  • Amplified fragments are labeled and hybridised to Epigenomics‘ proprietary microarray covering 50,000 CpG rich human genomic regions.
